    Acupuncture is an "old science" and while it mostly is dumb and doesn't work... it was kinda based on a real idea! When I had a muscle issue I needed a doctor to stick a needle down into my bone to release the spasmisng of the muscle. It was deep acupuncture on steroids!... it was the most painful thing ever, couldn't move my arm for a day... and then... it was healed! It was amazing! (this is standard western medicine now!)

    I checked his website and didn’t find any information about the progress of his new drug to activate NO. I personally did many experiments using just running, breathing to lower blood pressure. I found calcium channel blocker drug may boot production of NO during exercise in my body and change from hypertension to severely hypotension. I hope Dr. Nathan Bryan can be successfully get his drug approved and it would be a great contribution to people who are not able to exercise to boost NO. I hope he can post his progress on his website.

    SO THIS IS ALL GOOD AND ALL SO PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO USE INSTEAD OF ANTIACIDS FOR BAD ACID REFLUX COZ YOU NEED TO PROVIDE A SOULUTION WHEN MAKING THESE CLAIMS

    • @DoctorVMD
      @DoctorVMD 3 місяці тому

      Great point! It's important to consider alternatives when discussing the downsides of antacids for acid reflux. First, it’s essential to consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice. Lifestyle changes can significantly impact acid reflux. Consider smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding lying down after eating, and reducing intake of known triggers like spicy foods, caffeine, and alcohol. Certain dietary supplements, such as ginger, probiotics, and deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL), have been found helpful by some. Aloe vera juice (make sure it's formulated for internal use) and apple cider vinegar (diluted with water) are popular natural remedies, though evidence of their effectiveness varies. Remember, what works for one person may not work for another. Gradually introducing changes and monitoring their effects can be a prudent approach.

      Simply changing to carnivore got rid of 100% of my heartburn and acid reflux. Even if I go to bed right after eating a big steak, I never wake up with heartburn. If you really want to get rid of heartburn, get rid of carbs.

    About how much time to expect, especially for someone with slow metabolism? Thank you.

    • @DoctorVMD
      @DoctorVMD 3 місяці тому

      That's a fantastic question and one many people wonder about when making dietary changes! The time it takes to see results from healthier eating habits can vary widely among individuals due to factors like age, current health status, metabolic rate, and the specific changes being made. A 'slow' metabolism might mean results take longer to appear, but improvements in metabolism and overall health are still achievable with consistent effort. While it's difficult to pinpoint an exact timeline, many people start to notice changes in how they feel (such as increased energy and better digestion) within a few weeks. More visible changes, like weight loss or improved muscle tone, can take longer, often several months. It's important to focus on the long-term benefits of healthier eating rather than quick fixes. Consistency is key. Celebrate small victories along the way to stay motivated.

    Greek yogurt is nasty and you can make ice cream with honey instead of cane sugar ice cream is easy to make you just need a ice cream maker if you don’t want to keep putting it in the freezer and mixing it every few minutes for an hour or two

    • @DoctorVMD
      @DoctorVMD 3 місяці тому

      Using honey in ice cream is a creative idea! Natural sweeteners can be a great alternative for those looking to reduce refined sugar intake. And yes, making your own ice cream allows for customization to taste preferences and health goals. At the end of the day, the most important thing is enjoying your food and feeling good about your choices. Whether it's Greek yogurt, homemade ice cream, or the occasional store-bought treat, what matters most is how it fits into your overall lifestyle.

    It’s not supposed to be healthy not everything in life needs to maximize physical health sometimes a sugary treat after an awful day is ok

    • @DoctorVMD
      @DoctorVMD 3 місяці тому

      Absolutely, finding joy in food, including the occasional sugary treat, is part of life's pleasure. It's all about balance and not deprivation. While indulging from time to time is perfectly okay, my goal is to offer alternatives for those moments when you're seeking something a bit lighter or aiming to incorporate more fruits into your diet. As a longevity doctor, I focus on the cumulative effects of dietary choices on health. Occasional treats are not the issue; it's the daily habits that shape our long-term well-being.

  • @MoonDog991
    @MoonDog991 3 місяці тому

    I can tell you right now those are not in anyway close to an alternative to any of those ingredients.

    • @DoctorVMD
      @DoctorVMD 3 місяці тому

      I appreciate your honesty! It's clear you have a strong viewpoint on food choices, and I respect that. The aim of suggesting alternatives isn't to replicate the exact taste and texture of traditional treats, but to offer options that might align better with certain health or dietary goals. Taste is incredibly subjective, and what might be a delightful substitute for one person could indeed feel lacking to another. It’s all about finding what works for you. I encourage everyone to explore and experiment with their food. Sometimes, you might be surprised by what you end up enjoying!

    You also could just buy some fruit leather and get some healthy ice cream

    • @DoctorVMD
      @DoctorVMD 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for sharing that idea! Fruit leather, especially the kinds made with 100% fruit and no added sugars, can be a fantastic way to satisfy a sweet tooth. It's all about balance and finding what works for each individual's health goals and taste preferences. T I also want to point out that buying these regularly or every time you crave something, or maybe at midnight, might not be the best option for everyone. Accessibility and convenience play a significant role in our food choices, especially during late hours or on busy days. It’s helpful to have a variety of healthier options on hand for those moments, but it's also okay to occasionally indulge in your favorite treats. The key is making informed choices and maintaining a balanced approach to eating.

    Great topic, what supplements can you recomend and daily FDA required allowance..

    • @DoctorVMD
      @DoctorVMD 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for your interest! Nitric Oxide (NO) plays a crucial role in vascular health and sexual function, and supplements that support NO levels can be beneficial. Common supplements include: L-Arginine: Helps the body build protein and can boost NO levels. The suggested dose varies, with some studies using doses of 5-6 grams per day. L-Citrulline: Can increase levels of L-arginine in the body, thus boosting NO. Doses of 1.5 grams per day are often recommended. Beetroot Juice: Naturally high in nitrates, which the body can convert to NO. There's no standard dose, but research often uses 70-140 ml of beet juice. Remember, it's crucial to talk to a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications. They can provide personalized advice that considers the FDA's recommended allowances and ensures your safety.
